Application Mover 4.1

When you install an application, you will most often be asked to select the location where said application will be installed. I say "most often" because there are some applications out there that do not let you select the installation directory, they install to a default location. What if you don’t like where that application installed itself? Or what if, even if you got to select where to install the app, you changed your mind and would like to move the installed application to another location?

This is where specialized software applications come in. One such specialized software application is the Funduc Software-developed, the aptly named Application Mover.

As the name so adequately points out, Application Mover will take an application from one location and move it to another location. Or to put it in other words, it will relocate an installed program from one path on your hard drive to another path on your hard drive. Right about now I bet you’re thinking something like this: “Hey, I could do that by simply copy-pasting the application from one location to another”.

You’re right, you could do that – but chances are that the application will no longer work after you do this. To ensure the application you relocate keeps working properly, Application Mover scans the Windows Registry for references to the application you want to move. Furthermore Application Mover scans all shortcuts in the Start menu and makes the appropriate adjustments. Finally, *.ini and Install.log files present in the original program path are checked for strings matching the old path location.

Using Application Mover is a fairly simple process. This is all you have to do:
- In the “Current Path” section, select the application you want to move.
- In the “New Path” section select the location where you would like to relocate the application.
